What changes
Organising a crowded board
Pocket compresses the space problem. Small route mistakes become expensive almost immediately.
Rules
Rules for this mode
- The board is smaller than the standard arena.
- Two red balls remain available.
- Walls and your tail end the run.
- Each red ball adds 1 point and 1 growth section.
Tactics
Three useful decisions
- Keep a turning gap between parallel lanes.
- Track the tail on every lap.
- Use the second red ball to avoid a bad pocket.
Start
Opening plan
Keep one side orderly and avoid dividing the centre. Pick the red ball that continues a lane instead of the one that creates a tiny loop.
Watch for
Common mistake
Using wide Classic-style detours on a board that has little spare room.
Practice
Use three runs for one change
Use the first run to learn the board. Repeat the same opening on the second run. On the third, change only the turn that caused the previous loss. This makes it easier to tell whether the problem was the route or the input.
