Reading two edges as one route

The wall is removed, but distant cells become neighbours. That changes how you read the whole board.

Reading two edges as one routeMain skill

Rules for this mode

  1. Crossing an edge moves the head to the opposite edge.
  2. Your own body can still end the run.
  3. A normal red ball adds 1 point and 1 growth section.
  4. There is no time limit.

Three useful decisions

  1. Check the destination edge before every wrap.
  2. Use the centre as a return route.
  3. Do not wrap into a lane already occupied by your tail.

Opening plan

Try one planned wrap near the start. Look at the destination edge before the head leaves the screen.

Common mistake

Treating a wrap as an escape without checking where the head will reappear.

Use three runs for one change

Use the first run to learn the board. Repeat the same opening on the second run. On the third, change only the turn that caused the previous loss. This makes it easier to tell whether the problem was the route or the input.
