Purpose

Open the page and play

The game does not require an account, download, or tutorial gate. A run starts with a direction input, requests fullscreen, and keeps the score in the current browser.

Game design

Readable movement and clear consequences

The standard snake starts with three sections, then grows with every red ball. It uses a thick continuous body, a separate expressive head, smooth movement between cells, and different reactions for nearby red balls, danger, pause, collision, the bonus black ball, and new records.

Seventeen modes change rules that affect the route: walls, self-collision, speed, red ball count, moving ball, obstacles, board size, timers, starting length, and autonomous rival snakes.

Phones and tablets

Swipe is the default

Mobile players steer by swiping directly on the board. The on-screen direction pad has been removed, while Restart, Pause, sound, and the full-screen exit remain available above the active board.

Writing

Pages should answer a real question

Guides are written around the mechanics used by the game. Mode pages state exactly what changes, how the run can end, which opening is reliable, and which mistake the mode tends to expose.

Historical and comparison pages identify third-party names for reference only. Snakega.me is not connected with Google, Nokia, or another game publisher.

Data

Scores stay on the device

Best scores, recent runs, settings, and the selected snake colour use browser local storage. Clearing site data removes them. Read the privacy policy for the full explanation.
