Sequencing entry and exit

Spiral turns one passage into a commitment. Timing the return is the main problem.

Rules for this mode

  1. A fixed winding barrier reshapes the board.
  2. Walls, blocks, and the tail end the run.
  3. A normal red ball adds 1 point and 1 growth section.
  4. The inside and outside connect through limited passages.

Three useful decisions

  1. Plan the exit before crossing inward.
  2. Use the tail position to judge when a corridor is reusable.
  3. Leave a red ball if the return path will close.

Opening plan

Trace the spiral before entering it. Do not go inside unless the same corridor will still be free when you need to leave.

Common mistake

Treating the red ball as the end of the route and forgetting that the body must follow.

Use three runs for one change

Use the first run to learn the board. Repeat the same opening on the second run. On the third, change only the turn that caused the previous loss. This makes it easier to tell whether the problem was the route or the input.
